Where we stand.

Finlume is not authorised to provide financial advice. We are not providing financial advice, we are not arranging investments, and we are not holding anyone’s money. Everything described on this website is in development.

The route

What we are doing about it.

Early regulatory engagement

The UK regulator runs a support route for firms building automated advice models, with a named case manager and informal steers on the rules ahead of a formal application. That is where a business like ours begins, and where we are.

A supervised live pilot

Before anything reaches a wider market: a ring-fenced group of real customers, under close supervision, with every recommendation reviewed. It is the standard route for proving an automated advice engine.

Full advice, not a halfway house

We are building toward fully regulated, individual financial advice — automated in delivery, but carrying the same suitability duty, complaint rights and compensation protections as advice from any authorised firm.

Safeguards

What we are building in from the start.

1

Human sign-off first

The first 100 to 500 automated suitability reports will be reviewed and signed off by a qualified adviser by hand before they reach a client. After that, a fixed proportion continues to be sampled and recorded. The control moves from manual to sampled — it never disappears.

2

Independent oversight

A non-executive director with regulatory compliance expertise, appointed to oversee governance.

3

Boundaries that do not move

Defined benefit transfers, trusts and genuinely complex affairs stay permanently outside the automated service. They are referred to a human adviser. We will not widen the engine to chase revenue.

Today

What this means for you right now.

You cannot become a Finlume client, because there is nothing to become a client of. You can try the prototype, join the waitlist, or get in touch.

If you need financial advice now, MoneyHelper’s free directory will help you find a firm that is authorised to give it.
