Millions of people are already investing through an app, without any real confidence they are doing it right. Finlume is being built for exactly them.
Where we sit
Apps like Moneybox and Freetrade are good at what they do. But you pick the fund, you decide the order to fill your wrappers, and if it turns out wrong, that was your call.
A regulated recommendation, a portfolio matched to your risk profile, and the tax sequencing worked out for you — at a price the DIY audience can afford. Once authorised.
Genuinely better for complicated affairs, and worth the money when you have them. But most firms now want £100,000 or more before they will take you on.
Pricing
The subscription. It covers the advice engine, the cashflow plan and the tax modelling. If your employer sponsors Finlume, this is free to you.
Charged only on money you actually invest through us, and only if you choose to. It covers the platform, the custody and the managed portfolio.
There is no initial charge, no exit charge, and no charge for advice on top.
See it before you commit
The prototype opens by telling you what the service is and is not, before it asks you a single question. That screen is not a legal formality — it is the first thing we want you to read.
The boundary
An automated service should be honest about its edges. Finlume will not advise on any of the following — not at launch, and not later when it would be commercially convenient.
If you need one of those, the automation stops and says so — then you choose the person. Speak to a Finlume Wealth adviser, who picks up with your fact-find already done. Or take it to any independent adviser you trust: MoneyHelper keeps a free directory, and when independent is the right call, we will say so.
